Less Than 3 Math Tutoring

There are a few reasons why choosing Less Than 3 Math Tutoring is a great choice:

1) I have classroom experience! I have taught each of the subjects that I offer for multiple years. Because of this, I know where students typically struggle and how to overcome those obstacles. I have knowledge of where its important to focus energy and what will become an important foundation in later subjects. And because of my classroom experience, I have had the privilege of successfully working with students who have a multitude of personalities, learning preferences, and commmunication styles.

2) I only offer in-person tutoring and I travel to you! You don’t need to drive your student anywhere and they still get the benefit of the face-to-face, pencil-to-paper learning that is so crucial to retaining information. If your student would prefer to learn away from potential distractions at home, I am happy to also meet in a public location such as Barnes and Noble.

3) I help your student with what they need, right now. Some tutoring companies won’t help students with their current material until they feel they have mastered all prerequisites and filled in all learning gaps. This can feel demoralizing and stressful, and it doesn’t help a student succeed in their current course in a timely manner. I prefer a “just in time” approach instead. While working with a student on their current material, I will identify gaps as they arise and build the student’s knowledge base in a context that makes sense with what they are currently learning.

4) I am patient and kind. I will never shame your student for making a mistake. Quite the opposite, I prioritize creating an environment where students feel safe to be vulnerable enough to attempt a problem even if they aren’t quite sure they’re correct.
